Dr. Wu received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering: Pre-Med at the University of California, Irvine in 2007. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2013. She has also since attained her specialty certification as a Neurologic Certified Specialist.
She was propelled into the field of physical therapy after a series of injuries from Chinese lion dancing, snowboarding, and other accidents.
Dr. Wu has worked as a doctor in physical therapy for 10 years and loves working with complex neurological diagnoses (stroke, spinal cord injury, vestibular, TBI, ankylosing spondylitis, auto-immune diseases), complex post-surgical recovery head-to-toe (new and old), radiculopathy, and burn patient recovery. She believes no two pains or dysfunctions are the same. Dr. Wu believes that a balance of mobility, strength, rest, and spiritual motivation is the most effective optimization of function and holistic healing. She loves to think outside the box for all individuals: ambulatory and wheelchair athletes, martial artists, young and elderly.
She passionately pushes her patients to recover as much independence as possible in all areas of life, applies NDT, PNF, CIMT approaches, as well as a 6-month Advanced Functional Biomechanics of the Lower Quarter with Chris Powers of Movement Performance Institute. Dr. Wu is passionate about manual therapy for scar tissue recovery to enhance movement and has taken extensive coursework with the Institute of Physical Art (IPA).
In Dr. Wu’s free time, she loves to travel, heal people on mission trips (Dominican Republic, Cuba, Honduras, Czech Republic), go snowboarding in the backcountry, weight-lift, rock climb, read, and spend time with her church family. She is also fluent in English, Spanish and Mandarin!
