World-renowned and ceaselessly dedicated, Dr. Lin opened the doors to Rehab and Revive as a facility to treat and heal patients with revolutionary methods. In 2016, these new methods were named Neuromechanical Therapy (NMT).
Dr. Lin is the highest-rated Physical Therapist in Southern California on Yelp.com for the past 5 years. He was a former adjunct professor at Chapman University’s Doctorate Program for Physical Therapy located in Irvine, CA. He was also a clinical faculty at San Diego State’s DPT program where he mentors PT students. Dr. Lin is also on the Board of Directors for Embrace the Curve, a non-profit Children's Scoliosis Foundation. He has contributed to Tom Ashbrook’s “On-Point” segment on NPR, as well as newspapers in syndicated columns, and his Youtube Channels have hundreds of thousands of views. In 2020, Dr. Lin was a contributor to a Forbes China article that discussed healthcare for professional athletes. The original article is in Chinese, but you can read a translated version here!
Dr. Lin has worked with professional athletes and celebrities in pioneering the growth and adoption of the NMT system, and regularly donates his time for community health outreach. The governing body of the Institute of Physical Art certified Dr. Lin as a Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT®). The rigorous and intensive coursework takes over 1000 hours of extra training, education, and practice before testing. Dr. Lin is one of just over 300 certified FMTs in the world.
His holistic approach to pain management has been largely influenced by his esteemed mentors, Dr. Gary Kaplan, Director of the Kaplan Center for Integrative Medicine and the author of Total Recovery, and Gregg Johnson, co-founder of the Institute of Physical Art, and founder of Functional Manual Therapy. In 2015, Dr. Lin graduated from a one-year intensive mentorship program with Canada’s famed therapist, Diane Lee. Through her Integrated Systems Model (ISM), he refined his expertise in the rib cage/thorax and pelvis.
Author of one of Amazon’s Hot New Releases in September 2014, Rehab the Mind, Revive the Body: Foundations for Healing, Dr. Lin is no stranger to being published. While he was a student at Boston University, his professor Kate Burak, published a book. Writing In The Works, in 2007, 2009, 2012, and now in its 4th edition in 2015. His influential memoir has inspired many internationally and is used to help future writers find their voice. Writing in the Works is used at the University level in language schools, and the internet.
Other than mentoring, his professional passion is in youth sports and baseball. He believes performance enhancement can be pushed to elite levels with more efficient manual therapy techniques to optimize athlete’s peak performances.
On his free time enjoys working out with his trainers at Fitness on Fire and getting more functional. He loves college football particularly his wife’s alma mater the Texas Longhorns and the LA Dodgers Baseball Club.
He has a wife and daughter who he enjoys acting silly around and being the type of father who can “try to do it all”.
He is also the proud fur-dad of Rehab and Revive®’s American Kennel Club recognized Good Citizen Canine, Delta! Delta was a rescue from Tijuana. You will often see her receiving pets and playing with patients when she is in the office.
